What are solar panel grants?

Solar panel grants are available to homeowners and landlord under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme, which is funded by electricity and gas suppliers. These grants can help make solar panels more affordable for tenants and homeowners.

The grants are provided to homeowners and landlords for free or at a subsidised rate, with the aim of reducing energy bills and increasing the use of renewable energy in homes across England, Scotland and Wales. Landlords and homeowners must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible for the grant. For example, homeowners and landlords must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D or above and homeowners must meet certain income criteria.

The amount of money available through the ECO scheme varies depending on location, with some areas receiving more funding than others.
