What are solar panel grants?
Solar panel grants are available to homeowners and landlord under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme, which is a government-backed scheme. The scheme aims to help cut carbon emissions and reduce energy bills for vulnerable households by making energy efficiency improvements such as free solar panels or home insulation.
To be eligible for the grant, you must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D or above and meet certain criteria set by your energy company. You must also meet the requirements set out by the Energy Saving Trust. This includes having a valid claim to ownership, proof of residence and the ability to pay for any additional energy-saving items.
The amount you can receive varies depending on your energy company and their commitment to making your home more energy efficient.
