What are solar panel grants?
Solar panel grants under the Energy Company Obligation scheme is a government funded initiative that helps homeowners and small businesses offset the cost of installing solar panel systems. The scheme pays for part of the cost through direct cash payments to households and businesses, as well as providing access to special offers from energy companies such as discounted rates for electricity.
Installing solar panels can reduce your energy bills and help you become more sustainable. The grant amount you are eligible for depends on your individual circumstances, such as whether you receive certain benefits and household income.
It is important to remember that solar panel grants do not cover the full cost of installation, so it is advisable to speak to a professional installer who can help you make an informed decision about which solar panels are best suited to your home.
There are many factors to consider, including the size of your home and its location, as well as the type of panels you choose. You may also want to check with your local authority for any grants or incentives they can help you apply for.
