What are solar panel grants?

Solar panel grants under the Energy Company Obligation scheme can be a great way to reduce the cost of solar panels for households. Eligible households can access up to £10,000 over 5 years towards installing energy saving measures like solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. To qualify, you must own or rent a property and have an energy supplier who participates in the ECO scheme.

The grant amount you are eligible for depends on your individual circumstances, such as whether you receive certain benefits and household income. It is important to remember that solar panel grants do not cover the full cost of installation, so it is advisable to speak to a professional installer who can help you make an informed decision about which solar panels are best suited to your home .

There are many factors to consider, including the size of your home and its location, as well as the type of panels you choose. You may also want to check with your local authority for any grants or incentives they can help you apply for.
