What are solar panel grants?

Solar panel grants is a scheme that helps homeowners, private tenants and landlords reduce their energy bills and avoid fuel poverty by replacing carbon fuel source for heating with renewable forms of heating. The solar panel grants are carried out under the ECO4 government scheme; this scheme is designed to help people living in homes with an energy rating of D and below with energy efficiency measures, such as insulation and solar panels.

The scheme helps to reduce energy bills by up to 75%, allowing homeowners to save on their energy bills in the long run. It also helps reduce carbon emissions and pollution, making homes more sustainable. Additionally, those with solar panels installed under the scheme may be eligible for the Smart Export Guarantee. The SEG scheme allows homeowners with solar panels to be paid for the electricity they generate. This helps to provide further savings on energy bills and may even create an income.

The scheme is open to most households in England, Scotland and Wales, with some eligibility criteria that must be met. It is important to note that the solar panel grants are not available for every house and homeowner; therefore, it is important to check with the provider before applying. Furthermore, additional costs may be incurred when installing solar panels and these should also be taken into account prior to making an application.

Solar panel grants can provide homeowners with a great opportunity to reduce the cost of their energy bills and create an income from selling electricity back to the grid.
